For the CMWP task.
Last time I talked about how I use Photoshop as a image editing software, for color grading and correcting my photographs. Then I realized that the function of the Photoshop is far more than just for processing photograph. I use its drawing function to help me create basic digital charts to optimise my powerpoint. You may be annoyed that Powerpoint just has a few themes and models which you can use in, for example, school presentation. Having insert the charts drawn by Photoshop, I make my powerpoint exclusive that all of the graph elements are ‘ do it yourself’ style rather than using ppt’s inner model.
Before you use Photoshop to draw something, you need to understand the difference between the Bitmap and vector. A bitmap image is a computer file used to store a picture. It consists of tiny blocks called pixels. For instance, now we all know that there are loads of camera can capture high resolution image. If you are shooting full hd moving image, which means the resolution is 1920×1080=2073600 pixels. There is a photo I took below, and it is magnified 1000%, which you can clearly see the pixels. The other chart is also drawn by photoshop, and the resolution is fixed.
Hence the disadvantage of bitmap is obvious. But, there is always buts, the advantages of bitmap include: most bitmaps can be read by most bitmap-based software and certain file formats , such as Jpeg, DNG, Raw, PNG.etc; the output will normally be a bitmap while you use a scanner.
What about the vectors ? A software called Corel Draw I recommend can be used in vector. The controllable points are crated in vectors drawing when you use Corel Draw. A sample of basic drawing I drawn in vectors looks below:
The obvious advantage of vector is that it has no limitation of resolution. Its resolution is dynamic, and it will be changed with the change of display size. Through same number of control points, the shape can be made to animate from one point to another point, automatically. However, there are not much device or scanner support vectors, so it is not convenient as the bitmaps.
Which one is appropriate to you is really depends on what your chats use for. If your work is Regardless of how the artwork was originated, such as for TV,film, or video youtube based, the final output format will always be a bitmap. Whereas if your work is associate with print, vector is your best choice.
